An African American hip-hop girl resists the ancestral call of the Senegalese dance "Sabar". When she finally gives in, she discovers more than a dance - she finds herself. OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA - PRESENT DAY: AISHA has been dancing hip-hop all her life and cannot understand why her best friend is crazy about African dance. On a dare, she goes to the dance class "just to see her friend" but when she leaves, the drumbeats follow her and haunt her.
