Written for Penn State University Grad Acting Class of 2014.   / bloodattheroot   --------------------------------------------------------- Commissioned by Penn State's School of Theatre for its graduate acting company, Blood at the Root is a new play by Dominique Morisseau that is infused with music and movement. It explores the escalating racial tensions at a southern high school when a student challenges the status quo. The company led a successful South African tour last summer and will tour the Penn State system this spring before playing the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August. The power of Dominique's words combined with the talent of our acting company is that rare combination of artistic excellence and social responsibility, and we're thrilled to share it with the world.
