Fibre Content was a project of the Fibrations consortium consisting of SAQA Central Canada, Group of Eight, Grand Guild of Fibre Artists, Burlington Fibre ArtsGuild, and Connections Fibre Artists. For further information about the Fibre Content exhibition as well as other events of the Fibrations consortium please go to www.Fibrations.org or contact Dwayne Wanner at dwanner@sympatico.ca The Fibre Content Exhibition illustrates the many sides of fibre arts and art quilting. The traditional art of quilting continues to evolve into many related art forms, and Fibre Content showcases some of them. This juried show displays 125 unique content fibre works of art. History, Nature, memory, love, war and landscape are a few of the subjects depicted in pieces. The various perspectives include representational, graphic and abstract points of view. Materials include feathers, leather, copper, wood, plastics and fabrics - to name a few! The techniques used are as diverse as the creators. The first Fibre Content Exhibition was held October 27 - 28, 2012. We are looking forward to presenting our exhibition next year. Burlington is located in southern Ontario, Canada, right beside Hamilton. Burlington is one hour drive from Toronto. It is an hour and a half drive from the American border at Buffalo, New York.
