NaviGloves are a set of smart gloves designed for cyclists, assisting them to navigate safely on their rides. They feature five LEDs that gradually warn the cyclist of upcoming turns using traditional "traffic light" colours, and a flex sensor that allows them to flash bright red lights when extending an arm to indicate a turn. Each glove is powered by an Arduino, connected to the user's phone over Bluetooth. The accompanying app then takes navigation data directly from Google Maps notifications, and transmits these to the gloves to enable their navigation feature. This project was completed as part of Designing Novel Interactions (INFO90003), at the University of Melbourne.
