I was asked a few years ago to work with the BBC for a special show to highlight the fashion of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd using holographic technology. This show aired during Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee back in 2012 and was hosted by Fashion legend, Twiggy and premier bridal designer Stewart Parvin. The idea for the show was for Twiggy and Stewart to discuss the evolution of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd style onstage with holograms of Her Majesty taken from different eras. My role on this project was on production aspect of the holograms of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 2nd. I had to work closely with the BBC visual media team to make sure the content created worked with the Holographic Technology and that the assets worked well with the talent onstage. It was a really remarkable experience as I got to work with Twiggy and Stewart Parvin in an intimate creative environment both of whom are very skilled in their respective art forms. I also got to work on a creative fashion project that was specific to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd which was a rare opportunity that no one should say “no” to. Technically speaking, I got to make “A Hologram for the Queen”. Lesley Lawson (née Hornby; born 19 September 1949), widely known by the nickname Twiggy, is an English model, actress, and singer. A British cultural icon, she was a prominent teenage model in swinging sixties London. Stewart Parvin is one of the UK’s premier fashion and bridal designers, who in 2007 was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen, and in the 2016 New Years Honours list was awarded the MVO, a personal gift from the monarch to recognise his years of personal service.
