Having a bit of free time, I have decided to work in Unreal Engine to create a photoreal earth project for cinematic rendering. This video showcases the current state of my work. I have done a bit of compositing on those shots but you could achieve the same look in Unreal Engine using Post Process Volume. This is still an early release and I will update it and improve it over time.
