Dr. Andrew Chan is a laboratory instructor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, providing students with the opportunity for hands-on learning and the development of essential laboratory skills. Dr. Chan’s colleagues know him to be a talented, hard-working, conscientious, and respectful individual. His students know him as approachable, kind, and one of the best educators in the Faculty of Science. The students in Dr. Chan’s labs learn to understand the material, helping them become self-reliant and apply that knowledge in other parts of their education. Dr. Chan is an innovator in distance (online) teaching and learning. He recently chaired a national panel of chemistry educators who sought to assist universities with adaptations to teaching during the pandemic.
