The nominees for the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys were recently announced by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. While most of the nominees were revealed on the morning of April 26th, some major categories such as Outstanding Drama, Lead Actor and Actress were disclosed the night before. It is not surprising that all four remaining soaps received Outstanding Drama nominations, but The Bay was unexpected, receiving recognition in the writing and directing categories as well. Beyond Salem: Chapter Two, a Days of Our Lives spinoff, also scored two nominations, giving both the directing and writing teams, headed by Ron Carlivati, two chances of winning in those categories.
