The 1951 Country novelty “The Hot Rod Race” was first adapted as “Hot Rod Lincoln” by Charlie Ryan in 1955. Then both he and Johnny Bond later charted popular new versions in 1960; and finally, it was brought back most successfully by ‘Commander Cody’ (performer and painter George Frayne).
