Company Fresh Night 1
WELCOME to Day 1 of our Company Fresh Festival! Tonight you’ll see some incredible work created by students in the Theatre & Dance Department at Wayne State University. Reminder to join us April 11th through April 16th for a collection of new work every night! *ABOUT THE SHOW* Company Fresh is our freshman production experience initiative. Students in Company Fresh are guaranteed choreography, performance, design, or stage management opportunities in their first year. Student choreographers/dancers work collaboratively in small groups to create unique screendance performances, including choreographing, filming, and video editing as parts of the creative process. Under the guidance and support from faculty, dancers are encouraged to draw inspiration from life experiences to create work that reflects current challenges. Theatre student members are cast into a select group of 4 to 5 performers. An upper-class student serves as director. Selected playwrights from the community are connected with each group and a short, original play is developed to reflect the performers’ experiences. This means that students will have a play that is specifically written for them! On behalf of our entire team, enjoy the show! *CONTENT WARNING* The following videos contain strong language and thematic elements that may be triggering to some audiences. *PRODUCTION TEAM* Billicia Hines - Executive Producer Dr. RAS Mikey Courtney - Dance Faculty Advisor Hannah Anderson - Dance Faculty Advisor Lisa LaMarre - Dance Faculty Advisor James Fortune - Advising Producer Olivia Kimes - Artistic Director/Producer Morgan Listenbee - Artistic Director/Producer/Director Lisa McCabe - Managing Director/Producer Kate Spademan - Managing Director/Producer Liam Lynch - Head of Marketing/Producer Morgan Montgomery - Production Stage Manager *SHOW CREDITS* 00:00 Welcome Video Billicia Hines - Executive Producer Dr. RAS Mikey Courtney - Dance Faculty Advisor James Fortune - Advising Producer Olivia Kimes - Artistic Director/Producer Morgan Listenbee - Artistic Director/Producer/Director Lisa McCabe - Managing Director/Producer Kate Spademan - Managing Director/Producer Liam Lynch - Head of Marketing/Producer Morgan Montgomery - Production Stage Manager Samantha Stafford - Director Rachel Meloche - Choreographer/Dancer/Ensemble Get to know some of the faces behind the Company Fresh Festival!
