Part 3 of the 2022 NAWCC Ward Francillon Time Symposium "Horology's Great Collectors" Friday, October 21st, 2022 The Symposiums formal program began on Friday evening in the library of the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen. Chair Bob Frishman introduced the 59th James Lecture and provided an overview of its history since it began in 1932. Daryn Schnipper, Sotheby's senior vice president/chairman, International Watch Division, gave the 2022 keynote lecture and was the second woman to do so. She discussed several key collections that she handled at Sotheby's and her experiences meeting many of horology's eminent collectors. Special Thanks to the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen of the City of New York. "Lectures by eminent scholars from USA, England, and Germany at the historic library of the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen; Saturday-night banquet at the Harvard Club of New York, bonus program on horological illustration honoring the late John Redfern; special curator-led tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s European watch and clock collection; all-day field trip to the Morris Museum for special curator-led tours and demonstrations of antique automata and mechanical music machines"
