Part of the CUGH 2021 Virtual Conference in March 2021 Satellite Organizer: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA This session will outline the importance of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first presentation will describe the role of the Mobile Phone Data Collection Technology in pandemic surveillance in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Sri Lanka. The second presentation will highlight experiences with training field epidemiologists at the intersection of COVID-19 and NCD comorbidities. The third presentation will profile the epidemiological risks of diabetes, obesity, and hypertension in pandemic clinical outcomes. The final presentation will outline sections in the International Health Regulations and Global Health Security Agenda that can be strengthened by incorporating NCD action elements.
