With our top-of-the-range edition Melodyne studio you can transfer the sonic character of one instrument to another. Like turning a Strat into more of a Les Paul – or vice versa.
The underlying technology goes far beyond simple EQ matching, because only Melodyne has access to individual notes in audio files and can therefore translate the physical properties of an instrument into specific “fingerprints” of overtone structures.
In this 10-minute video, Sensho demonstrates how to imprint these fingerprints from one guitar to the next. But of course you can do the same with other instruments, including the human voice.
0:00 Intro
0:37 Today’s audio example
1:48 The spectral overview
2:33 Applying tonal changes
3:33 Using spectrums from different guitars
5:15 Layers of original and new guitars
6:25 More character with Contour
7:32 Unifying different guitars
8:52 Final combination of all elements
