#breakthroughjuniorchallenge Two of the biggest theories in the world of physics are Einstein's theory of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. There has long been a conflict in combining these two theories which explain how the biggest and smallest things in the universe work. However, there are two theories that explain the unification of these two triumphs in the world of physics: String Theory and Loop Quantum Gravity. In this video, I have explained how the theory of Loop Quantum Gravity proposes the idea of Quantum Gravity (the unification of Einstein's General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics). Watch to learn more! Why is this important? This is important because it helps us understand how the universe works better. For example, Einstein's theory of General Relativity explains gravity on larger scales as the curvature of spacetime. However, it tells us nothing about subatomic particles gravitationally. Because of this, there is a limit to how much we can understand the way the universe works. Many scientists believe that quantum gravity is helping us understand some of the mysteries of black holes and even the Big Bang!
