This video showcases a project I have been working on in my spare time : Prunus Cerasifera - Trees, Seasons pack
I was inspired by the fields of Plum trees around the area were we live.
I wanted to experiment and find a workflow with Unreal 5 and nanite for trees and vegetation.
This wasnt an easy task , as it requires very complex tooling to get things like wind baked, and be able to handle milions of milion of poly meshes , while working comfortably.
On top of this I decided to push myself to even create a season system , on top of learning and creating my new pipeline.
It did take uncofortably long time , to get everything done , tools, assets, textures, shaders, systems, scenes and other - in the few spare hours a day.
Everything here is made by me, from procedural texturing and personal photogrammetry , to shaders , tools for baking , managing and creating the trees.
Another challange I liked having was using mostly open or one time pay software, no subscriptions.
And also no generative AI.
