What are independent clauses VS dependent clauses? What is the difference and how can you identify an independent clause versus a dependent clause? In this English grammar lesson for beginners, you will learn how to form independent clauses and dependent clauses. I will also briefly talk about subjects, predicates, and verbs in clauses. Independent clauses contain a subject and a predicate and express a complete thought. Dependent clauses contain a subject and predicate; however, they do NOT express a complete thought.
