02-Jan-2025. Power: VEN WDG3A 014884 Alco Locomotive makes it presence in 2025, Seen here is Verna WDG3A Alco doing Departmental Duties hauling Empty BOBYN wagons towards South. These BOBYN Wagons are filled with Ballast at Murudeshwar Ballast Depot & unloaded/dropped at South of Kumta Station, where Track Renewal work happened few days back. Post unloading of Ballast, Track Machine was deployed for Packing of Ballast Bed. After which this BOBYN consist which was at Kumta station, had Loco Reversed & sent back to Murudeshwar. 14884 WDG3A was Ex-Pune Diesel Shed Loco, which was De-rated & used for Shunting duties as per Railway Board circular to Ground the Alco locomotives & withdraw from Mainline Duties. Further Central Railways Pune Shed Withdrawn this Alco & planned for Scrapping. Konkan Railway which needed Diesel Locos for Departmental works purchased 2 of these Such Alcos from Central Railways & homed at Verna. Thanks for watching!.
