This video explores deep inside the bone and illustrates how bone is truly a living organ inside the body, not just an inanimate skeleton. With over 50% of older adults having poor bone health, building a strong skeleton in early life is the best insurance to prevent future fractures. This can be achieved through weight bearing exercise and adequate calcium and vitamin D intake. This video has been developed by Kate Patterson of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research funded by the Australian Government Osteoporosis Consumer Awareness Grant for educational purposes. Thank you to Mark Arrebola of Friend Factory https://friendfactory.com.au for modelling and texturing of internal bone structure. Music by Max Viktorov, Published by Pond5.
