Inspired by one of the greatest archaeological discoveries Britain has ever witnessed that was made at Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon Royal Burial Ground in Suffolk. Amateur archaeologist Basil Brown uncovered an incredible ship burial in 1939 complete a wealth of treasures, including the now iconic helmet, painstakingly pieced together from tiny fragments. Sutton Hoo is the site of two Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, dating from the 6th and 7th centuries from which the most extraordinary archaeological finds have been unearthed that changed our understanding of early Medieval England.
