This video is about the Howard Center an organization that provides services in Burlington and the surrounding towns, and how we may be able to help you. We know that everyone has struggles sometimes, and if you are feeling sad or anxious or are having a hard time, we may b e able to help.
We work with people of all ages. We can set you up with someone you or your child can talk to. If your child is having a hard time at school, we have staff who work in schools that may be able support your child.
We work with people who might be struggling to get along with others, or need support to stop using alcohol or drugs. We also work with people with developmental disabilities and others who may be having a hard time doing daily tasks like getting to appointments, paying bills, or getting groceries. We may be able to help you get a case manager.
We want you to know that Howard Center can help.
We support people living in Vermont who speak languages other than English. We will provide you with an interpreter either on the phone or in person. You can choose which you prefer. The interpreter will keep everything they hear private, and they will interpret everything that is said. The interpreter is NOT there to give advice or share their opinions. We also have a multicultural liaison team that can help guide you through our services.
If you need help and are not sure what to do next, call us at 802-488-6000 from 8:30am –5:00pm Monday through Friday. When you call, say the name of your language, and then wait until an interpreter is brought into the call. With the assistance of the interpreter, we will be able to help determine what kinds of services will best fits your needs. …...more
