He was a son of George Boone III and Mary Milton Maugridge. He belonged to the Religious Society of Friends, also known as Quakers. Squire and his brother, George, and sister, Sarah, went to America ahead of their parents in 1713, joining William Penn's colony. Their parents came four years later, in 1717. Squire was a weaver and a blacksmith. He married Sarah Morgan on July 23, 1720 at the Gwynedd Meeting of Quakers. They lived in Exeter, Berks County, Pennsylvania, and had eleven children. Their son, Jonathan, born in 1730, was my 7th great-grandfather. He was an older brother of Daniel Boone, the famous frontiersman who was born on this homestead in 1734.
