Multiple sources have indicated that this will be the last year that Bafang make the BBSHD version of their popular mid drive Ebike motor. This will leave the redesigned M625 as the only option left for builders. This is a shameless attempt at consumer control and manipulation to sell their own 48 volt battery instead of allowing consumers choice. Fortunately for us builders they are not very good at doing this. One way of getting around the mandated battery is to swap in a BBSHD stock controller for the one on the M625 and details of that are included in the video. It is disappointing that Bafang are taking this route of corporate greed. Its ironic that in doing so they actually limit their profits because they narrow the number of bikes that can use the M625 purely because the battery will not fit into many frames. Rest assured that we will continue to do what we can to make it possible to not only bypass the restrictions on the M625 but make it easy for people to run this motor at 52 and 72 volts to its true power and potential.
